SilentPkg

Send us your most painful line-of-business app. Get back a tested silent-install package.

For MSPs and IT teams working alongside Intune, Patch My PC, and winget. You send the licensed installer; we return an Intune .intunewin, a plain PowerShell script, a detection rule, an uninstall, and docs. Easy and Medium apps are delivered in 48 hours once intake is complete.

  • Tested: install, uninstall, detection, upgrade
  • 14-day fix warranty
  • 48h for Easy and Medium after complete intake
  • Your installer, used only for your packages

How it works

  1. Apply, then get your portal invite. Apply for the pilot with a few details about your apps. If you're accepted, you'll get an invite to the SilentPkg portal (two-factor sign-in). There you add each app's name, version, target OS, deployment tool and any config or license parameters, upload your licensed installer, and confirm you hold the license.
  2. We classify and confirm. We tag the app Easy, Medium or Hard and confirm the price. Hard apps get a written quote and timeline before any work starts.
  3. We build and test. We test install, uninstall, detection and upgrade over the previous version on your stated OS.
  4. You deploy. You get the package and docs, plus a 14-day fix warranty.
About the 48-hour turnaround: It applies to Easy and Medium apps only. The clock starts once intake is complete (installer, license confirmation, OS and parameters) and pauses whenever we're waiting on you. Hard apps get a quote and timeline instead.

Customer-supplied, licensed installers only. We never provide or redistribute installers.

Is my app Easy, Medium or Hard?

Easy: usually one of:

  • MSI installer with standard properties
  • EXE with vendor-documented silent switches
  • Single component, installs in SYSTEM context, no license key at install time

Medium: usually one of:

  • EXE with undocumented switches we need to discover (installer framework detection, extracting an embedded MSI, response files)
  • Prerequisites to chain (e.g., runtimes)
  • Config files, transforms, or license/server parameters passed at install
  • Detection that isn't straightforward (e.g., 32/64-bit registry paths, per-user leftovers)

Hard: usually one of:

  • No silent install support from the vendor
  • Multi-component or server/client suites (e.g., a client that must point at a server or database)
  • Vendor-gated downloads or activation steps
  • Custom wrappers or UI automation needed to get a silent result
  • Drivers or services with special install requirements

FAQ

Do you provide the installer?
No. You supply a licensed installer and confirm you hold the license. We deliver the package only to you, never reuse your installer for anyone else.
Will you publish my package to other customers?
No. Deliverables built from your installer go only to you.
What exactly do you test?
Install, uninstall, detection, and upgrade over the previous version, on the OS you specify. We don't test the app's features.
When do I get a refund?
If an in-scope test (install, uninstall, detection, or upgrade) fails on your stated OS and we can't fix it, you get a refund. Problems outside that scope, or on OS versions you didn't specify, aren't covered. (Applies to paid packages after the pilot; pilot packages are free and provided as-is.)
What's the 14-day fix warranty?
If the package fails an in-scope test on your stated OS within 14 days of delivery, we fix it at no charge.
Does this work with Intune, Patch My PC, or winget?
SilentPkg works alongside them. You get an Intune .intunewin and a plain PowerShell script, so you can deploy through Intune, your RMM, or load the details into Patch My PC Custom Apps. Use your catalog for the apps it covers, and send us the ones it doesn't.
Do you handle printer drivers and scan-to-email / scan-to-folder fixes?
Yes, as a separate quoted category. Printer driver deployment through Intune usually means installing the driver as SYSTEM and mapping the printer separately, within Point-and-Print restrictions. Scanning also has known breakpoints: Microsoft has scheduled the deprecation of Basic-authentication SMTP submission in Exchange Online, and Windows 11 24H2 requires SMB signing and blocks guest access by default, which can stop older devices scanning to folders. Outcomes depend on the device and its firmware, so we quote each request after reviewing it and can't promise a fix for every model.
What if my app can't be installed silently at all?
We'll tell you during classification, before work starts.
